This “course” was a disappointment. The fairways were in terrible shape, resembling anything but actual fairways. The rough was nothing more than patches of dirt, and the greens were badly beaten up.
Played 9 holes golf here. It rained the morning so the ground was quite muddy and I didn’t finish all 9 holes, but I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing views and atmosphere
Disc golf course was super fun. Well maintained, easy to follow using UDisc. Long open holes as to be expected on a Golf Course, but some technical pin positions thrown in.
Scott in the pro shop was a true gentlemen. Gave a clean course overview, good tips and served a killer scotch. The greens were perfect and the environment was special from the second you turn onto the property. It was windy for sure, and the course was setup for it. A+ 5 stars and more if I could
There was more elevation gain in this course than an average hike. You end up hitting while your feet are about 6 inches lower or higher than your club. Not even the tee boxes are level. Oh and they don’t have grass on half the fairways so if you can’t hit it 200 yards off the tee then you should probably bring your own mat with you. The sand pits have dirt not sand. The greens are remarkably wacky. They claim that you should just be a better golfer if you want to enjoy this place, but I don’t think scratch golfers are pulling up here to luxuriate in the dust, maintenance men actively kicking up dust as you play and driving over your balls, and general ambience
Gleneagles is open for golfing - disc and traditional. Got in 9 holes today and enjoyed some great weather and a 1h45m round.
Course is in ok shape; the greens seemed to have been given the most TLC but the fairways and tee boxes were a little rough at times. The layout overall is pretty fun though, with some challenging shots to keep it interesting. They’ve got 2 tee boxes for each hole, so you can play a full 18 if you want to get in a full round. Will definitely come back with how close this course is to SF.
LOVE how they’ve operating to make it easy to social distance! Only 2 golfers at a time, walking only. Show up no earlier than 15 minutes before your round and leave as soon as you’re finished. You can book via email - just make sure you specify if you want a round of disc golf or regular golf.
Course was ok. Bartender was a complete jerk (not the journalist bartender; he was nice.). Was forced to pay for two caddies for “liability reasons” who were walking with us while there were toddlers with cards who didn’t pay. Good greens, bad boxes.
My first golf experience in SF. I’ll start off by saying this 9 hole course will challenge you. If you stray away from the fairways you will pay for it. By far some of the toughest greens I’ve ever played. The pin placement makes it that much more challenging.
